Purpose

Section 202.6 of the ISO rules, Adequacy of Supply requires the AESO to publish details of the calculations and methodologies underlying the forecasts and reports referenced in subsections 2, 3, and 4.2 of Section 202.6.

The AESO is proposing amendments to ID #2012-006R to amend some of the variables and assumptions used in the methodology set out in Appendix 3 of ID #2012-006R, Calculations and Methodologies regarding Supply Adequacy. These will make the short-term adequacy metric more accurate and provide a better indication of reliability.

    The AESO is seeking Stakeholder feedback on Appendix 3 and the removal of the exclusion of wind and solar generation from the detailed calculations and methodologies relating to long-term adequacy of supply contained in Information Document #2012-006R, Adequacy, Supply Shortfall and Energy Emergency Alerts ("Amended ID 2012-006R").
